Cast rehearse Simon Stephens's Carmen Disruption

Rehearsal images have been released for Simon Stephens's Carmen Disruption, which opens at the Almeida Theatre on 10 April.

A "dramatic reimagining" of Bizet's Carmen, the play features a cast including Sharon Small, Noma Dumezweni and John Light.

Carmen Disruption is be directed by Michael Longhurst, designed by Lizzie Clachan, with lighting by Jack Knowles, sound by Carolyn Downing, movement by Imogen Knight and new music composed by Simon Slater.

According to press material, Stephens's "strange and beautiful new play explores the possibility of love in a fractured urban world."

It runs at Almeida Theatre from 10 April to 23 May 2015.
