First look at Audra McDonald in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill

The multiple Tony Award-winner makes her West End debut in this play with music about Billie Holiday

Images have been released offering a first look at Audra McDonald making her West End debut in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill.

The actress revives her performance as jazz singer Billie Holiday following the show's Broadway premiere in 2014, for which she won her record-breaking sixth Tony Award.

The play with music features several of Holiday's classic songs such as "God Bless the Child", "What a Little Moonlight Can Do," "Strange Fruit" and "Taint Nobody's Biz-ness". It follows the story of her life as she rose to fame in the '30s and '40s, but passed away aged 44.

Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill runs at Wyndham's Theatre, London from 27 June to 9 September.
