An American in Paris extends in the West End

George and Ira Gershwin’s musical will run at the Dominon into the new year

It's been announced that An American in Paris has extended in the West End until January 2018.

Christopher Wheeldon‘s adaptation of the Oscar-winning film, about an American solider and young French dancer in Paris, opened in March.

The production, which opened on Broadway in 2015, stars Robert Fairchild, Leanne Cope and Haydn Oakley. It features the music and lyrics of George and Ira Gershwin including the songs "'S Wonderful", "I’ll Build a Stairway To Paradise" and "They Can't Take That Away from Me".

In her five-star review for WhatsOnStage, Sarah Crompton said the production was 'unlike any other musical on the London stage: sumptuously beautiful and heartfelt.'
