Amelia Lily stars in American Idiot at Arts Theatre

X Factor star Amelia Lily will play Whatshername in a production of Green Day musical American Idiot at the Arts Theatre.

Racky Plews's production will run from 17 July to 27 September 2015, with further casting to be announced.

Tony Award-winning American Idiot premiered on Broadway in 2009, and toured the UK in 2012. It features the music of Green Day, including the title track, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and "Wake Me Up When September Ends".

Amelia Lily was a finalist in 2011's The X Factor, and subsequently had a number two single with "You Bring Me Joy". She has supported Girls Aloud on tour and Olly Murs at the INTRO Festival, and recently starred in the tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat as the Narrator.
