First look at Alfie Boe and Katherine Jenkins in rehearsals for Carousel

ENO’s production opens at the London Coliseum in April

Images have been released showing Alfie Boe, Katherine Jenkins, Nicholas Lyndhurst and the company of Carousel in rehearsals.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical is a romantic fantasy set both in heaven and on earth, tracking the tragic New England love story of fast-talking carousel barker Billy Bigelow (Boe) and naïve mill worker Julie Jordan (Jenkins). ENO's production is directed by Lonny Price and will open at the London Coliseum in April.

After premiering on Broadway in 1945, it was subsequently made into a Hollywood film starring Shirley Jones and Gordon McRae. The score includes "Mister Snow", "Soliloquy", "What's the Use of Wond'rin" and "You'll Never Walk Alone".
