Sam Cassidy's rock musical 27, which premiered at the Cockpit Theatre in 2016, is to return for nine concert performances at The Other Palace in March.

Renamed Myth: The Rise and Fall of Orpheus, the production will have a revised book and new songs and will be semi-staged with Arlene Phillips returning to direct.

The piece is a modern retelling of the ancient Greek story of Orpheus and the underworld. It looks at mental illness and addiction and its original title referred to the early deaths of musicians including Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse.

The original Cockpit run featured a cast including Ryan Molloy, Cassie Compton and Jodie Jacobs. New casting will be announced in due course.

Myth: The Rise and Fall of Orpheus runs at The Other Palace from 10 to 17 March 2018.
