Whatsonstage.com Awards: Have Your Say on the Year in Opera

By • London
It’s time to vote in the first-ever Whatsonstage.com opera Poll, where you – the avid operagoer – has the chance to vote in four categories to decide who’s delivered the most outstanding performance this year, which revival and which new production you admired most and who has gone beyond the call of duty and made the most significant contribution to London’s operatic scene.

Myself and colleagues Mark Valencia and Simon Thomas scratched our heads, threw some ideas back and forth and eventually settled on the list of nominees you see below. Not surprisingly we didn’t agree on everything, probably about 90% of the list, but we believe it covers all of the performances and stagings that thrilled us over the last twelve months.

You might not agree with all our choices, but I think the great and the good of the capital’s operatic firmament are duly represented, so it’s time to get voting – and please feel free to forward the link to everyone you know. The more who vote, the merrier!
