WhatsOffStage: The Art of the Brick by Nathan Sawaya

Nathan Sawaya’s exhibition is coming to the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane at the end of the month

We love theatre here at WhatsOnStage, in fact you could even say we live and breathe it. However, on occasion, we can also be found in galleries, cinemas and other non-theatre venues too – I know, we're sorry, but we're only human. So our new feature "WhatsOffStage" will highlight some of our favourite cultural events from London and around the UK, starting with The Art of the Brick by New York-based artist Nathan Sawaya.

The Art of the Brick is an exhibition featuring large-scale sculptures using only LEGO® bricks. It is the first touring exhibition to focus exclusively on LEGO® as an art medium and the creations, constructed from over one million individual LEGO® pieces, were built from standard bricks beginning as early as 2002.

The exhibition has broken attendance records around the globe and comes to The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane from 26 September.
