Russian director Andrei Konchalovsky is bringing two Chekhov productions to the West End's Wyndham's Theatre next year.

Produced by Moscow's historic Moccobeta State Academic Theatre, Uncle Vanya and Three Sisters will run from 23 April to 3 May 2014, performed in the original Russian with English surtitles.

According to press material, the productions are "feeding an increasing appetite for international theatre in London".

Konchalovsky said: "I am delighted to bring these two Russian productions to London's West End. No matter how many times you appeal to Chekhov, he is inexhaustible. Every time his work is seen on stage, you find something unnoticed, unexperienced and undiscovered."
