Cirque du Soleil's Quidam returns to Royal Albert Hall

The international circus troupe will bring its 1996 show back to London in January

Cirque du Soleil's Quidam will return to the Royal Albert Hall in January for a limited run.

The show, first seen in Montreal in 1996, will welcome its three millionth London patron during the run, according to press material.

Quidam features an international cast of 45 acrobats from 19 countries, including the award winning acts Banquine, in which 15 artists perform synchronized sequences of acrobatics and human pyramids and Aerial Contortion in Silk, suspended high above the stage.

Other acts include Aerial Hoops, Rope Skipping, Diablo and Juggling.

Cirque du Soleil, which was founded in 1996, has been seen in more than 300 cities in over 40 countries on six continents. The company hit headlines in June when a performer was killed during a performance of Ka in Las Vegas.

Quidam, which is directed by Franco Dragone, runs at the Royal Albert Hall from 4 January to 9 February 2014.
