The Print Room's opening season at its new venue the Coronet in Notting Hill will feature productions starring Harry Lloyd and Janet Suzman, WhatsOnStage can reveal.

As previously reported The Print Room is relocating from its current home, a former print works on Hereford Road, to the Coronet, a historic Victorian playhouse and latterly a cinema.

Its first productions at the Coronet will be staged in a temporary black box studio in the existing smaller cinema space.

The venue will eventually include three flexible theatre spaces – the largest of which, a 400-seater, will continue to operate as a cinema as well as performance space. There will also be rehearsal and workshop facilities, administration offices and a restaurant and bar.

The inaugural season opens, from 6 October to 1 November 2014, with French theatre director Gérald Garutti teaming up with British actor Harry Lloyd to deliver their modern adaptation of Notes from Underground. Based on the novella by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, the production was first seen in Paris earlier this year.

Lloyd's recent theatre credits include The Duchess of Malfi (Old Vic), The Little Dog Laughed (Garrick) and A View from the Bridge (Duke of York's). On screen he's appeared in Robin Hood, Doctor Who and Game of Thrones.

Immediately following Notes from Underground, Janet Suzman will star in Lara Foot's new play Solomon and Marion, which sees two injured souls searching for redemption in post-apartheid South Africa.

Suzman is a former Olivier and Academy Award nominee who has worked extensively for the Royal Shakespeare Company, where her roles have included Cleopatra, Clytemnestra and Helen of Troy.

Solomon and Marion runs from 4 to 29 November in a co-production with Baxter Theatre Company and Birmingham Repertory Theatre Company.

On 4 December, award-winning poet David Harsent will read from his collection Fire Songs as part of the ongoing Poetry @ the Print Room series. And to usher in the festive season, Clive Francis will be presenting his one-man show for family audiences, A Christmas Carol, on 6 and 7 December.

Artistic director Anda Winters, who co-founded The Print Room with Lucy Bailey in 2010, said: "We are thrilled to open the very first season in our fabulous new home in Notting Hill with these brilliant theatre productions.

"This is just the start of our new adventure as we begin to fulfil our ambition to create and present a programme of world-class drama, innovative dance, diverse music, poetry, exhibitions and other performing arts, alongside the best of world cinema."
