Casts of Les Miserables and Phantom go head-to-head for charity on Sunday

The West End longrunners play their second annual football match on Sunday in aid of Great Ormond Street

This Sunday (11 August 2013) the casts of the West End musicals Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera will be swapping their costumes for sports kits when they go head-to-head in their second charity football match at Bromley Football Club.

The musicals’ cast and crew members will don the red and black of Les Mis or the blue and white of Phantom, to play alongside celebrity friends of the shows.

For team Les Mis, TOWIE‘s Mario Falcone, former cast member Gareth Gates, McFly’s Danny Jones, ex-Southampton goalkeeper Paul Jones, Hollyoaks‘ Danny Mac, and ex-West Bromwich Albion player Bob Taylor will join cast members Ethan Bradshaw, Dougie Carter, Lee Dillon-Stuart, Dayle Hodge, Tam Mutu, Jonny Purchase, Leo Roberts and Niall Sheehy, stage manager Ricky Green, resident director Chris Key, and associate MD Steve Moss.

For team Phantom, X Factor‘s Andy Abraham, Hollyoaks‘ James Atherton, ex-Southampton player Francis Benali and his son Luke Benali and Ladykillers star Ralf Little will join cast members Dom Cobby, Peter Dukes, Michael Kerry, Tim Laurenti, Jeremy Secombe, Richard Shelmerdine, Simon Shorten and Simon Thomas, crew members Chris Barlow, Ben Brown, Ryan O’Gorman, Simon Prockter, ex-cast member Nadim Naaman and resident director Sam Hiller.

The match is a fundraiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital’s ‘Theatre for Theatres’, a charity campaign which provides invaluable support to children and their families.

The teams are also playing as a mark of support for Melanie Oakley-Dow, Head of Wigs at Les Miserables, in her brave fight against cancer.

The match at Bromley Football Club will kick off at 3pm on Sunday, with family fun day activities and entertainment for all ages from 1pm.
