Beatles show Let It Be returns to Proms in the Park

The concert takes place in Hyde Park on Saturday 7 September, prior to a live video relay of The Last Night of the Proms from the Royal Albert Hall.

The cast will play Beatles hits including “Hey Jude”, “Twist and Shout”, “She Loves You” and “I Saw Her Standing There”.

Events marking the climax of the Proms are now held annually in London, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.

Other artists appearing in Hyde Park this year include Bryan Ferry, Dame Edna Everage and Nigel Kennedy.

Let It Be showcases the music of the world’s most successful rock’n’roll band, in a “spectacular theatrical concert” charting the band’s rise from their humble beginnings in Liverpool’s Cavern Club, through the height of Beatlemania, to their later studio masterpieces.

The show, which opened last year at the Prince of Wales Theatre before moving to its current home The Savoy, features over 40 of The Beatles’ greatest hits including: “I Wanna Hold Your Hand”, “A Hard Day’s Night”, “Day Tripper”, “Get Back”, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, “Strawberry Fields” and “When I’m Sixty-Four”.
