Opening: Court’s Circle Mirror Transformation, returns for The Ladykillers and Dirty Dancing
Among this week’s major London theatre openings, in the West End and further afield, are the return of WOS award-winner The Ladykillers, Circle Mirror Transformation starring Imelda Staunton and Toby Jones, Dirty Dancing, and more:
The American Plan 8 July 2013 (Previews from 2 July)Theatre Royal Bath’s production of Richard Greenberg’s play, set against the backdrop of the Catskill Mountains during a 1960s summer, transfers to the St James Theatre. Directed by David Grindley, it runs until 10 August 2013.
Graham Linehan’s WhatsOnStage award-winning play returns to the West End. Based on the classic Ealing Comedy, it stars Ralf Little and Simon Day, and runs at the Vaudeville Theatre.
Bristol Old Vic Young Company present Rory Mullarkey’s play, which was first presented as part of NT Connections 2012. It runs at the NT Shed until 13 July.
Toby Jones, Imelda Staunton and Fenella Woolgar star in Annie Baker’s play, running as part of the Royal Court’s Open Court season. It runs at the Rose Lipman Building, Haggerston, until 3 August 2013.
Pam Gems’ play follows four determinedly ‘liberated’ women who share a flat together. Commemorating the centenary of the death of Emily Davison, it runs at the Finborough Theatre until 3 August 2013.
The musical based on the classic film starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey returns to the West End following a national tour. It runs at the Piccadilly Theatre until 22 February 2014.
