Jersey Boys transfers from Prince Edward to Piccadilly in 2014
The show, which charts the true story of Frankie Valli the Four Seasons, recently celebrated its fifth London birthday at the Prince Edward, having opened there in March 2008.
Jersey Boys originally opened on Broadway in 2006, receiving the Tony Award for Best Musical. As well as Broadway and the West End, it can currently be seen in Las Vegas, across the United States on its US National Tour, as well as in Perth, Australia. It will open soon in Cape Town, South Africa and the Netherlands.
The show is packed with Four Seasons hits, including “Sherry”, “Walk Like A Man”, “December, 1963 (Oh What a Night)”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Who Loves You”.
Currently at the Piccadilly, Spice Girls musical Viva Forever! closes at the end of June, to be followed by the West End return of Dirty Dancing, which runs until February next year.
No further productions have been announced for the Prince Edward, though rumoured shows include the West End transfer of Disney musical Newsies and the return of Miss Saigon.
