Jerry Mitchell's West End production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels has extended its run at the Savoy Theatre until 7 March 2015.

The show's principals Robert Lindsay, Rufus Hound and Katherine Kingsley will continue with their performances as Lawrence Jameson, Freddy Benson and Christine Colgate throughout the new booking period.

Following its acclaimed opening in April, the cast and producers said today they are "thrilled" to be extending the production into next year.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is based on the popular 1988 film starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin, directed by Frank Oz.

Set on the French Riviera, the story sees the decadent world of sophisticated conman Lawrence Jameson come crashing down with the arrival of larger-than-life Freddy Benson – a conman of an entirely different order.

The two find themselves going head to head, pulling out all the stops in a bid for the affections of millionaire soap heiress Christine Colgate.

The show features music and lyrics by Drama Desk Award winner David Yazbek (The Full Monty) and book by the Golden Globe and Emmy-Award winning Jeffrey Lane (Mad About You).

The cast also includes Samantha Bond as Muriel Eubanks, John Marquez as Andrew Thibault, Lizzy Connolly as Jolene, alongside: Gavin Alex, Darren Bennett, Niamh Bracken, Lisa Bridge, Darren Carnall, Andy Conaghan, Phoebe Coupe, Claire Doyle, Alice Fearn, Selina Hamilton, Ian Knauer, Lisa Mathieson, Zak Nemorin, Genevieve Nicole, Javier Santos, Todd Talbot, Dominic Tribuzio, Jon Tsouras and Zara Warren.

"We are thrilled with the audience and critical reaction to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," said ATG’s Howard Panter. "We have found the perfect home for this production in the lavish Savoy Theatre."
