Could be good… Wanted for Crimes Against Jazz

Detained at customs with a suitcase containing a PVC cat suit, blow-up doll, burlesque outfit, love toy and a photo of Michael Ball, Carolyn and Nicky wondered,  how it had come to this? A few months ago they were complete strangers but now, partners in crime.

 

They met lunging for the last microphone on a jazz course and, by the end of an

impromptu duet, The Tempo Teasers were born. They are a comedy act, consisting of two single women, trying to find themselves through music, but getting it spectacularly wrong. Think Morecombe and Wise doing jazz.

 

The show is already making waves, and has been picked up by Leicester Square Theatre as one of the most innovative, exciting new acts at this year’s Brighton Fringe.

 

The show has been devised, written and brought to Brighton by two working mothers; a Clinical Psychologist and an Actress, who both share a creative approach to having no spare time.

 

“It’s the mid-life thing that helps. You absolutely have to embrace what feels good.” says Carolyn Pallon, “and try to make life swing despite its difficulties”. That is exactly what the women in this show do, they give it their all despite their limitations, and find themselves, by ultimately just being themselves, even if that means they don’t quite get it right!
