RSC's Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies transfer to Aldwych in May

As previously rumoured, the Royal Shakespeare Company's productions of Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies, which are currently playing in rep in Stratford-upon-Avon, will transfer to the West End, opening for a limited run at the Aldwych Theatre on 1 May 2014.

Mike Poulton's adaptations of Hilary Mantel's Booker Prize-winning novels are directed by Jeremy Herrin, and they will play until 6 September.

Ben Miles stars as Thomas Cromwell in both productions, which chart the rise to power of Cromwell in the Tudor Court. The productions also include in the cast Lucy Briers, Lydia Leonard, Paul Jesson and Nathaniel Parker.

Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies are produced by Playful Productions and the Royal Shakespeare Company, with design by Christopher Oram, lighting by Paule Constable and David Plater, sound by Nick Powell with music by Stephen Warbeck.

They follow in the Aldwych Theatre Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest musical Stephen Ward, which closes on 29 March.
