Good People starring Imelda Staunton confirms West End transfer

As previously tipped by WhatsOnStage, Good People starring Imelda Staunton and Lloyd Owen will transfer to the West End's Noel Coward Theatre next month following its run at Hampstead Theatre.
Good People will open at the Noel Coward on 15 April 2015, following previews from 10 April, running for a ten-week season prior to the opening of Shakespeare in Love.
Hampstead artistic director Edward Hall said: "I am utterly delighted that Good People is having this very well deserved West End run: it’s a truly brilliant play beautifully directed, and the cast are astonishingly good in it."
Written by Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire, Good People won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play of the Year when it premiered on Broadway. The Hampstead production marks its UK premiere.
Staunton plays sharp-tongued single-mother Margie, who will do anything it takes to pay the bills after losing yet another job. Hearing that an old boyfriend who has made good is in town, she decides to corner him – old loyalties should be good for something.
Directed by Jonathan Kent (who directed Staunton in the WhatsOnStage Award-winning Sweeney Todd), it runs at Hampstead until 5 April.
The Noel Coward Theatre's current resident, Simon Beaufoy's screen-to-stage play The Full Monty, recently posted closing notices for 29 March.
