Dream casting: Wicked the Movie

With the date for the release of the movie musical set for 29 October 2015, we take a look at who we’d like to see in the lead roles

The rumour that Harry Styles is being lined up to play Fiyero in Wicked the movie got us thinking, who would we cast as Elphaba and co? Here's what we came up with but who would you like to see in the roles? Let us know in the comments below.

Elphaba – Lea Michele

Michele has shot to fame appearing in the hit TV series Glee in which she has already proven that she can handle the show's most famous song:

Glinda – Amy Adams

Adams' most recent role in American Hustle is probably as far removed from Glinda as you can get, but who could forget her performance in Enchanted?

Fiyero – Zac Efron

Efron's an established Hollywood hunk and is no stranger to movie musicals, making his name in the movie musicals High School Musical and Hairspray.

Boq – Daniel Radcliffe

WhatsOnStage Award winner Radcliffe recently hinted about wanting to do more musicals following his Broadway run in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and we think he'd be great as Boq.

Nessarose – Anna Kendrick

Kendrick showed off her musical prowess in the hugely popular film Pitch Perfect. Could you imagine a cup version of "The Wicked Witch of the East"?

The Wizard – Kelsey Grammer

Grammer cut his teeth in a musical when he joined Douglas Hodge in La Cage Aux Folles on Broadway and this trailer convinced us he'd be great as our Wizard.

Madame Morrible – Meryl Streep

Well of course we have to have Streep for Madame Morrible, if only to guarantee the film an Oscar Nomination! We loved her in Mamma Mia and if you cross her character in that with the part she played in August: Osage County then you have Madama Morrible!

Dr Dillamond – Richard Gere

The silver fox would be a delightful Dr Dillamond and he is also no stranger to a movie musical, playing Billy Flynn in Chicago.

Chistery – Justin Bieber

Well, you know…
