Nikki Amuka-Bird and Charlotte Randle join Andrew Scott in Royal Court's Birdland

Full casting has been announced for Carrie Cracknell’s production of Simon Stephens’ new play, which opens at the Royal Court in April

Full casting has been announced for Simon Stephens' new play Birdland, which opens at the Royal Court on 9 April (previews from 3 April).

Joining the previously announced Andrew Scott will be Nikki Amuka-Bird, Daniel Cerqueira, Yolanda Kettle, Alex Price and Charlotte Randle.

Directed by Carrie Cracknell, the play centres on an international rock star at the height of his fame, played by Scott, who is reaching the end of the road on his current world tour.

Nikki Amuka-Bird has stage credits including Love and Information (Royal Court), Welcome to Thebes (National) and Twelfth Night (Bristol Old Vic). Her TV credits include Luther and Silent Witness. Daniel Cerqueira has appeared in Cleansed (Royal Court), Feast (Young Vic) and Table (National).

Yolanda Kettle has credits including A Doll's House (West End), Hello/Goodbye (Hampstead) and The Seagull (Arcola) and Alex Price‘s theatre credits include Before the Party (Almeida), Bingo (Young Vic) and Beautiful Thing (Manchester Royal Exchange). Charlotte Randle has stage credits including The Lyons (Menier Chocolate Factory), Public Enemy (Young Vic) and The King's Speech (Wyndham’s).

Birdland has set design by Ian MacNeil, costumes by Holly Waddington, with lighting by Neil Austin, music and sound by Tom Mills, and runs from 9 April to 31 May 2013 (previews from 3 April).
