John Lloyd Young, who originated the role of Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys on Broadway, will reprise the role in the West End when the production moves to the Piccadilly Theatre in March.

Young, who also stars in Clint Eastwood's forthcoming film adaptation, will play the role from 15 March to 27 April 2014.

On Broadway, he won the Lead Actor Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards, becoming the only American actor in history to win all four leading actor awards for a Broadway debut.

As previously reported, WhatsOnStage Award-winner Ryan Molloy, who has played role of Valli for six years in the West End, will leave the show on 9 March when Jersey Boys finishes at the Prince Edward.

Jersey Boys, which is based on the story and songs of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, is the winner of 55 major awards worldwide. The show originally opened on Broadway in 2006, receiving the Tony Award for Best Musical.

Its replacement at the Prince Edward is Miss Saigon.
