Lloyd Owen joins Staunton in Good People at Hampstead Theatre

Full casting has been announced for David Lindsay-Abaire's play Good People, which opens at the Hampstead Theatre on 5 March (previews from 27 February).
Joining the previously announced WhatsOnStage Award winner Imelda Staunton in the cast are Lloyd Owen, recently seen in The Bodyguard, alongside: Lorraine Ashbourne (Three Sisters, NT), Matthew Barker (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, NT and Apollo), Angel Coulby (A Statement of Regret, NT) and June Watson (The Cripple of Inishmaan, Noël Coward Theatre).
Staunton plays sharp-tongued single-mother Margie, who will do anything it takes to pay the bills after losing yet another job. Hearing that an old boyfriend who has made good is in town, she decides to corner him – old loyalties should be good for something.
Having originally premiered on Broadway, Good People won the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play of the Year. Lindsay-Abaire won the Pulitzer for his critically acclaimed Rabbit Hole, which became a film starring Nicole Kidman.
The UK premiere production, which is directed by Jonathan Kent (who directed Staunton in Sweeney Todd) runs at Hampstead until 5 April.
