The cast for the Union Theatre's production of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice has been announced.

Charlotte Gorton (Memphis, Viva Forever) leads the cast as Mari Hoff, while Ken Christiansen (Lord of the Flies, An Inspector Calls) plays Ray Say. Carly Thoms (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Sound of Music) will play LV.

The rest of the cast includes Glenn Adamson as Billy, Mandy Dassa as Sadie and James Peake as Mr Boo/Phone man.

Jim Cartwright's tale about a shy young woman who turns out to have a beautiful singing voice was turned into a hit film starring Jane Horrocks and Jim Broadbent.

Opening on 4 June, with previews from 2 June, the show will be the final production in the Union Theatre's current home in Southwark. The show will be directed by Alastair Knights.

The Rise and Fall of Little Voice runs at the Union Theatre from 4 to 26 June.
