Emma Williams, Jonny Fines and Ray Shell cast in An Officer and a Gentleman

Full casting for the show’s world premiere production has been announced

WhatsOnStage Award winner Emma Williams has been cast as Paula Pokrifki in the upcoming musical production of An Officer and a Gentleman.

Williams will be joined by Jonny Fines as Zack Mayo, Ray Shell as Foley, Ian McIntosh as Sid Worley and Jessica Daley as Lynette Pomeroy.

The production will be directed by Nikolai Foster, with choreography from Kate Prince.

The cast also includes Keisha Atwell as Casey Seegar, Andy Barke as Louis Perryman, Darren Bennett as Bryon Mayo, James Darch as Troy, Nathanael Landskroner as Craig, George Ioannides as Eduardo Cortez, Joe Maxwell as Fin Hooper, Corinna Powlesland as Aunt Bunny and Rachel Stanley as Esther Pokrifki.

David Burrows, Vanessa Fisher, Aimee Hodnett, Kieran McGinn, Maisey Bawden and Rhys Whitfield completes the cast.

The musical is adapted from the film by writer and director Douglas Day Stewart, which was based on his own personal experience as a naval officer candidate. The book of the musical is co-written by Stewart and Sharleen Cooper Cohen and features songs including "Up Where We Belong", "Alone", "Don't Cry Out Loud", "You're the Voice" and "Girls Just Want to Have Fun".

There was a musical version of the film staged in Australia, but the Curve production has been re-imagined and reworked.

An Officer and a Gentleman runs at Curve, Leicester from 6 to 21 April and then tours to Leeds, Southampton, Birmingham, Liverpool, Dublin, Cardiff, Sheffield and more.
