WOS TV: Up Close With ... Frances RuffelleDate: 5 August 2010 Twenty five years ago, at the age of 19, Frances Ruffelle was cast in a role that would define her career. Playing Eponime in the original cast of Les Miserables led to fame, record contracts and a Tony award. She is the daughter of stage school surpemo Sylvia Young and mother of current chart sensation Eliza Doolittle. Yet even with showbusiness in her DNA, maintaining a career in the tough world of musical theatre hasn’t been without stress. Now 44, Ruffelle is bringing her show Beneath The Dress to audiences in Edinburgh. We meet in her gorgeously decorated house in north London where a new addition to the family – a puppy called Hogan – is causing havoc and amusement in equal measure. Frances Ruffelle's Beneath The Dress is running at the Pleasance at Ghillie Dhu, 5-30 August at 20.15 For full coverage of Edinburgh 2010, including reviews, interviews, news, gossip, blogs, features & videos, log on to Whatsonstage.com/Edinburgh! - by Joseph Pike Related Content
