WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Since 1959 Nana Mouskouri has sung over 1,350 songs in German, English, French, Greek, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Portuguese, Hebrew and Welsh (Gaelic). In a career spanning nearly five decades, she has been appearing for over 40 years in around 100 concerts every year, visiting her fans every two to three years. She has received more than 300 gold, platinum and diamond records and her breath-taking voice is known and loved by millions across the world.
Nana Mouskouri will return to the Royal Albert Hall as part of her extended Happy Birthday Tour, celebrating her birthday as well as the composers and writers who inspired her singing throughout the years. 2014 marks 50 years since the Greek singer worked with legendary songwriter Harry Belafonte and had her first stage experiences in the USA and Canada, a groundbreaking moment in a career which had already seen her release an album with Quincy Jones and perform in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Mouskouri will be accompanied by her four French musicians and by her daughter L?nou, who has her own singing career in France since 2001.
