One of the best plays we have seen in years and thanks Amelia for writing such a funny and poignant story. With 3 great actresses --well you can't go wrong it is all real. Yes I dare say that many would feel maybe thee should be younger actresses to them at Uni and then older ones to do them in later life but I thought the 3 on stage conveyed the ages very well. Gina McKee is such a brilliant actress she just does it all with grace and talent and same for Anna Maxwell Martin who I think is always good in all she does and As for Tamzin Outhwiate she was so credible in this role and again a very versatile actress. Loved every minute of it and wishe it had a West End showing as this play and these 3 actresses deserve it - Joe Spiteri

At times, particularly in the first half, Di and Viv and Rose contains moments of great hilarity and it is clear that Amelia Bullmore has an understanding of the relationships between three women as they develop from students into adults. However it does feel like a series of sketches from a TV sitcom meaning that when their stories change to tragedy it does not entirely convince as a cohesive drama. The three actresses are all superb, even if Anna Maxwell Martin is the only one who convinces as a teenage student, but I did wonder if they might have been even better if they had swapped roles. I am hardly in the target demographic for this play and neither were most of a matinee audience and although it was highly enjoyable it might have been even better if seen amongst people whose lives were being refelected onstage. - David Baxter

Yes, John, you're right: Rose is definitely the art student. Still not sure about Gina's accent. I know she's a Geordie, but something strange is going on, especially towards the end, when she's moved to New York. - michael coveney

THis is a very funny and moving play superbly performed by all three actresses. I can't believe that Mr Coveney thinks that Gina McKee's Viv might actually be Irish. She is so obviously a Geordie and as Ms Mckee was born in the north-east i imagine she can manage the accent. In fact many of her lines are funny precisely because of the accent. Also it is Viv who is the sociology student, Rose is studying art-history I think. Having gone to see the play mainly because of Anna maxwell martin I was taken aback by how good the other actresses were especially Ms Mckee. - John Goodwin
