starstarstarstarstarAbsolutely loved it. I cant undrstand why it has been given two stars by WOS? - Claire17 Jan 13
starstarReally disappointing. Acting very poor apart from Zac and the show didn't do the highly emotive nature of the book justice. - Lucy17 Jan 13
starstarstarstarAgain why Coveney has given this 2 stars??? though we all remember John Thaw's great performance in the TV film, this production is very good and Oliver Ford Davies does an adequate acting job of Mr Tom. All the cast work hard in their various roles and loved the Zak role. It is a slow moving play but that is the way it has to be but found it moving, well acted and enjoyed it very much. - Joe Spiteri14 Dec 12
starstarstarstarstarCan't believe Coveney only gives two stars to this production. It is superbly done - the children in the audience at the performance I saw were spellbound. Please don't be put off by this extremely jaded review. - Robert Richards08 Dec 12
starstarstarstarstarI adore this play, it is genrally heart tugging. Zach was brilliant his childish charm brought alot. Mr Tom is well acted you can see the slow growing love Tom has for Will. This play will make you cry, make you laught at all the right places. This timeless story slips perfectly onto stage. Will is perfect, inocent but slightly charming. With well thought out staging, fantastic acting and a classic story how could you not love this play. I recomend this play anyone in London who has a heart! - Fraser06 Dec 12
starstarstarstarstarThis play is for anyone who has a heart! The storyline is heart tugging, the acting superb and the production wonderful.A play for everyone whatever your age! - Robin Hurren05 Dec 12
starstarstarstarstarCant see how anyone could not have loved this. Its a tremendous story, was well acted and staged and was a thoroughly enjoyable evening for all our family. - AG05 Dec 12
starShould have not been produced. TV version was as it should be remembered. Went Saturday 24th Nov. 7.30pm. £87.00 for two,.Acting other than Zak deplorable, set similar. Left at interval, would have needed tablets if we had stayed - Michal03 Dec 12
starstarstarstarstarMax Richardson is absolutely right. Michael Coveney really has missed his mark this time. Please WoS, send a more objective reviewer, someone who actually enjoys theatre, to do another review of this production. This is just the latest of many reviews by Coveney that make it clear that he is no longer enjoying his job - it is lazy, inaccurate and ill-informed and completely misses the point. His prejudices should not be allowed to do the damage they do, either to productions or to the reputation of WoS itself. - Michael Worthington03 Dec 12
starstarstarstarstarThe production is heart-warming, beautifully acted and I promise there shall be no person at the end who has not shed a tear throughout. Michael Coveney seems to be the only one out of all the critics who doesn't think this is a 4/5 Star production (which it is); sadly for him he is always the odd one out. I wouldn't listen to this review if you are an avid WOS fan as I am - I plead WOS to take someone else to this show to review and reassess the star rating - to support this wonderful show. Extra mention to William Price who is a star of the future. - Max Richardson29 Nov 12
starstarstarstarstarThe show is great, Coveney is losing it and should be retired. Readers, ignore this spiteful review. Read the Standard and Guardian assessments instead. - Michelle Wright28 Nov 12
