starstarstarstarstarWe saw this in a sold out Saturday matinee and thought it was terrific. OK the story is a bit corny but the songs, dancing and Lucy Williamson and the whole cast were great. You have to wonder how such magic can be achieved in such a small space. - Terry Taylor30 Oct 12
starstarstarstarGreat production as usual from the Union. Lucy Williamson is sensational as the titular Madam Ambassador, Mrs Sally Adams, and the lighting is sublime. Full review on my blog http://www.frontrowdress.com/2012/10/call-me-madam-union-theatre-friday-5.html - Front Row Dress11 Oct 12
starstarstarstarstar'Call Me Madam' is rarely produced and the awful non plot and the dated American political theme are probably the reasons for this.Interestingly, the writers of the book went on to write the book for Rodgers and Hammerstein's 'The Sound of music'.However the Berlin songs are some of his best and this production just fanatastic and really worth seeing. It is amazing how this tiny Southwark theatre can produce such knockout shows with just a piano and a passion.I walked out of the theatre onto Union Street thinking it was indeed 'A lovely day today'.Thank you Union Theatre for yet another 5 star show ! - Rob11 Oct 12
starstarstarstarstarWhat a joy! I loved it. Small theatre, & simple but effective set, but great being so up close to the performers. Lucy Williamson steals the show, her performance as Sally Adams is the absolute highlight, loved her tap number. You must catch this whilst you can! - Emily10 Oct 12

starstarstarstarstarAbsolutely loved it! fantastic show well worth a watch. I'm going again! Lucy was stunning and the ensemble did a fantastic job. Gavin Kerr, Leo Miles, Natalie Lupin and Jenna Moore also stood out! It's a lovely day today! - Ted10 Oct 12
starstarstarstarstara classic invent of a show i adore, not done much as one neads a real star at its centre, i was not dissopointed, very different from the fix, what a versatile move my union theatre, stunning - jane 09 Oct 12
starAn ok cast do an ok job of an awful show. Can't understand the above. Come on people! In 2012, to have 10 minutes of the show based around 'a square dance' just doesn't wash. I think the creative team did the best version they could of it in the space. But can't understand why they chose it! The small house on Saturday also suggests that no body else is as excited... - Johnny Fox09 Oct 12
starstarstarstarLucy Williamson gives a powerhouse performance from start to finish, supported beautifully by Gavin Kerr and Leo Miles. Simple, but effective design. Some lovely touches by director Michael Strassen (his production of 'The Fix' in July, also at the Union, has been one my Fringe highlights this year). - David Somerville08 Oct 12
starstarstarstarGreat evenings entertainment. Amazing what can be done in such a small theatre.. A talented cast performing with such energy. I hadnt realised I would remember the songs so well. . Lucy Williamson oozes likability. Great voice too. As have the two young romantic leads... Lovely comic number from the 3 senators. Terrific evening. - Richard Chapman06 Oct 12
