New musical Mam I'm 'ere! spends Xmas at Liverpool Dome

Date: 26 November 2012

Following The Last 5 Years, and David Mamet’s comedy, A Life In The Theatre, Liverpool Theatre company Life in Theatre are bringing Mam! I’m ‘ere! to the Dome in Liverpool. This new musical features Liverpool’s Eithne Browne, Helen Carter, Paul Duckworth, Stephen Fletcher, Rachel Rae, Andrew Schofield, Alan Stocks, and Keddy Sutton.

Sally (Rachel Rae) was abandoned as a tiny baby on her Dad’s doorstep. 23 years on, she is getting married to her childhood sweetheart, Si (Stephen Fletcher), in the ‘picturesque’ setting of her Dad’s failing Caravan site, and longs to have her Mum alongside her for her special day.

After digging into her Dad’s little black book, and teasing out stories from Dave’s best mates (Alan Stocks and Paul Duckworth), she has narrowed her search down to three very different women from his past (Eithne Browne, Helen Carter and Keddy Sutton).

Believing they’ve won a mystery, all-expenses paid, glamorous mini-break away, the three ‘Mums’ find themselves walking onto a creaky caravan site, greeted by an old flame some of them would rather forget, and right into Sally’s trap.

Mam I'm 'ere is said to be jam-packed with classic Disco hits such as "Boogie Wonderland" and runs at the Dome in Liverpool from 7 December - 12 January.

Only found out about this show yesterday (11 January). Why wasn't it widely advertised. I live in Liverpool and regularly attend theatre. These guys have brilliant talent and many will have missed this show. Any plans for a re-ru???????? - Theatre goer

We travelled up from Kent on 22nd December to catch the show before Christmas. Unfortunately, due to one of the Performers being taken ill, the Show was cancelled. We decided to extend our stay in Liverpool to catch the next show on the 27th. We were so glad we did. The show was fantastic and worth a lot more than the £15 ticket price. The Comedy & singing by all the actors was brilliant, backed by a very good band. If you live in or near Liverpool and want something to lift you out of those post-Christmas / January ‘blues’, then get along to the Dome and boogie the night away. A great night out. - John - Kentish Man
