Five Reasons To See ... RSVP at Preston Tringe

We've had 24:7 Theatre Festival in Manchester and later this month sees the return of the Preston Tringe. One of the shows RSVP features Manchester based performer - Susan Jayne-Robinson. Here are five reasons why producers Twisted Avenue think you should go along and see RSVP.

1. It’s funny!
RSVP is a dark yet unnervingly hilarious story of one man’s journey to the edge of his personality.  Anthony, a very ordinary Health & Safety Officer, is faced with the unthinkable task of bumping someone off.  You will laugh, gasp and cringe along with Anthony as he battles with his decision, trying his best to win back the love of his life.

2. It is brand new
Excitingly, this will be the world premiere of a play which has been written by Leeds writer June Taylor.  June has worked closely with Twisted Avenue Theatre Company to create an original piece of new writing, exploring love, trust, and the search for truth. RSVP is a comedy that will surprise you, it is multi-layered and extraordinary.  In the surreal and tangled world that June has created, you will find strong characters and a plot that will certainly keep your attention.

3. It supports artists from the North of England
Twisted Avenue Theatre Company are championing new writing from the North.  For this production they also have on board local actors, designers, musicians, a choreographer and director all from Yorkshire and the North-West.  It is a collaboration of some of the most inventive artists from the North and with each new production even more local talent will be found and showcased. RSVP stars Manchester’s Susan-Jayne Robinson as the mysterious Gabriella Ottonelli.

4. The fabulous original music
The music, including a few tango numbers (yes that’s right), has been composed, performed and recorded by Lesley-Marie and Matt Foundling of roots-pop band The Musgraves. Hotly tipped as ‘one to watch’ The Musgraves sprung out of anonymity earlier this year with a toe-tapping live performance on The Graham Norton Show, and regular plays on Radio 2.

5. Preston Tringe, Preston Guild
RSVP will take place as part of the annual theatre feast that is the Preston Tringe Festival. This year the Tringe is taking place at the same time as the oldest festival in the UK, the Preston Guild, an historic celebration that only happens every 20 years!  Now that doesn’t come around very often so to be in Preston during the 2012 Guild will be a truly unique experience indeed.
