starstarstarstarstarAn absolutely fantastic show, go and see it before it ends a great night out. Emi Wokoma and Chris Tummings brilliant brilliant performances as Ike and Tina, dance, sing and enjoy! - Sarah29 Apr 12
starstarstarstarstarEmi Wokoma's talent, voice and performance all together is something one doesn't see often. Outstanding! That type of energy is like a pure blessing. Yes, as a proffesiional from the industry I could say I wish the script and the direction were a bit firmer, and more attention payed to the acting in all the spoken scenes...But I see this show more as a concert, as the main power is in the incredible virtousity of the leading lady! - Vesna29 Apr 12
starstarstarstarstaramazing show,Emi wokoma is superb as Tina, and let's not forget chris Tummings, who's portrayal of Ike is spot on.The band itself is worth the entrance fee. This show is on it's way to the westend next feb and rightly so. I have no doubt whatsoever that this show will be huge, so grab your chance now. - phil22 Apr 12
starstarstarstarI have only just been to see this because nobody invited me to the press night on the 19th! However, I was impressed with this collage of theatre and pop concert. OK some of the cast's dancing was not quite up to the standard of Pam's People or Legs & Co but it was good enough for the show. Emi Wokoma has a wonderful powerful voice and seems to have thighs just like the real Tina. I suppose I should admit that I was a great fan of Tina and used to play her songs at discos during the 80s and have all her DVDs. The show was actually quite technically challenging and the set was very cleverly designed and expertly enacted. I am often quite critical of the sound quality but in this case from my seat position at the front it was very good too. Now the music! They resisted the temptation to use recorded music and you get a six piece live band with a great sax player and a good trumpet too. So its all live music folks and very good too! For the last two songs the audience are invited to stand up and sway and dance in the aisles! I did not see anyone who was not enjoying the music. With a few small changes I could see it as having potential to become a West End show to entertain the tourists and earn some foreign exchange which we so badly need. - Tony Glazier22 Apr 12
starstarstarstarA great show - wanted to get up and dance! Just when I thought 'River Deep' was a bit lack-lustre it went into overdrive - clever! Emi pulls off a hard task because I didn't believe the role could be done without slipping into parody. Shame Nutbush was missing but it was a really enjoyable show. Fab Ikettes! - Colin Pinfold21 Apr 12
starstarstarGreat band and great vocals, loved the two leads (Ike was excellent and the piano guy) but sadly Emi was way too tall and looked wrong next to short boy dancers, or in the first scene girls dressed as boys (odd). set nothing at all but projections excellent! best I have seen. This is a tour show not for town.. and needs to sort it's book/story or just be what it is at its best - a concert of all her best numbers. - eastender21 Apr 12
starstarstarI'm a huge Tina Turner fan and was really looking forward to seeing this show. Emi Wokoma has an incredible voice and completely owns the stage when she is performing Tina's songs. However, a show is more than just songs and I'm afraid I found the acting from the whole company to be quite wooden and uninspiring. Chris Tummings got a little better as the show went on but failed to effectively portay Ike's domineering characteristics. So, overall, loved the music and Emi's singing but found the show to be disappointing. If this is to transfer to the West End it will need some considerable re-writing (in my opinion). - Tim Alexander20 Apr 12
