starstarstarI am from west wales myself, and I'd like to point out their accents (other than roger evans who you can tell is welsh) were terrible. Well, not terrible just not welsh, possibly russian? Inconsistent, far too clipped & not very good pronounciation of the welsh words for the most part. It's such a pity that a play that was so beautifully written, and so well performed in other ways was ruined by the cringing nature of their accents, which often verged into comedy distracting from the emotional intensity of it. I don't see why such a welsh play couldn't have had either welsh actors, or people who could do welsh accents in it. - Dilys 03 Dec 11
starstarstarstarAn interesting play, I was assured by a Welsh woman sitting next to me that the Welsh accents were authentic. I felt privileged to see the two Anna's working together - I felt I was witnessing a masterclass - and Imogen Stubbs conveyed the anxiety of someone suffering from ocd very well. I would have been even happier if it had been 10 minutes shorted, and slightly less meandering - but I came away feeling moved and satisfied. I thought the lighting was brilliant, especially the last moment when light flash up the back wall and across the ceilning before the final darkness, which was very evocative. - Gill B16 Nov 11
