starstarstarstarstarBrilliant rendition, the pace and rapport between Barnett and Parker is wonderful -I've seen this play many times and it still gives me warm laughs -Stoppard's word-plays and absurdist view of the human condition is still as thought provoking as ever - go see it! - Georgia Campling11 Jun 11
starstarDULL! Dated indeed and not helped by the pairing of Barnett & Parker who shined as Posner and Scripts but failed to do so as Rosencrantz & Guildenstern. Barnett ran around the stage as if he were doing a John Inman impersonation! Not surprising then that Mr Curry felt unwell. Not one of Mr Nunn's best efforts. - rds03 Jun 11
starstarstarstarThat is a fair review - very good acting and direction, but a starngte play, still doesn't really work. - Once was 1202 Jun 11
starstarstarstarstarChallenging ideas, magnificent pace, a brilliant conceit in switching the focus of the most famous play in the English language, and tour-de-force performances from Barnett and Parker... What more might you want? Well, Tim Curry, I suppose, but Chris Andrew Mellon appeared to the manner born. A group of three or four people in front of us did not reappear for the second half. In an odd way it was reassuring: proof that 45 years on, the play has not become cosy. Intriguing, too, to see Sir Tom in the audience. - Hugh Chevallier02 Jun 11
starstarstarstarstarGiven the apparent time that the understudy has had to rehearse the role, I thought he did a fantastic job. - Jim O'Daley01 Jun 11
starstarstarstarI thought it was very good. I've never seen it before so had no preconceived ideas about it. Saw it last week when the understudy had to go on. He was excellent and so were all the other players. We booked the play before we knew who would be in it, so although it would have been nice to see Tim Curry, he wasn't the reason we booked. - Veronica Frater01 Jun 11
starstarstarCFT find it very difficult to put on a poor production, but I'm afraid this one was disappointing. I know the script calls for speed, but I felt the entire play was set at the same unremittingly frenetic pace. I would have enjoyed a few more moments of tension and time for thought. It also felt under-rehearsed in places, not all of which could have been excused by the change of actor due to Tim Curry's illness. Still an entertaining night but not what I expected from the great Trevor Nunn. - Sue O'Donoghue01 Jun 11
