Yes the currency and the American accents baffled me too. That apart, this was a delightful and charming piece, good singing (no shrillness anywhere to my good musical ear)good choreography and performances all round and the relationship between the leads seems to be working now at this later stage in the run to me. Left the Theatre with a glow. - RT

Beautifully staged, but not matched by the uncharismatic lead performances of Joe McFadden and Dianne Pilkington - where was the chemistry between them? Having a director who is principally a choreographer didn't help. It was flashy but lacked depth. Clearly, it had a decent budget and so it was such a disappointment that the opportunity was missed to make this a great production. Of the other members of the cast Gavin McCluskey shined as Arpad Laszlo the erstwhile delivery boy and Jack Chissick, after a faltering start, made up for it with his genial turn as Mr Maraczek. I wonder how long we'll have to wait now before someone else has a go at putting it on? Pity!
