| A good escapist evening with great Gershwin songs and the many talents of Tim Flavin........good enough for me. - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 18 Sep 01 | |
| I caught this show some three days after the NYC outrage and you could feel the sense of togetherness between audience and cast. All right, the story line is total rubbish, but who cares when you have those wonderful Gershwin songs put together in effective package that respects Chichesters limitations and exploits them to the full? As for the pairing of Dee and Flavin, I thought they were in perfect harmony and what a pleasure to see Flavin tackle a show that he can sing as well as dance. By the way, is anyone going to recognise what an asset Hilton McRae is to the musical thatre and cast him in a starring role? It is long overdue. - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 17 Sep 01 | |
| Having read your review of My One and Only I disagree entirely with the comments. The show is spectactular, lovely Gershwin songs that you know already ,and the magical dancing of Tim Flavin is enough for starters. The storyline may not be the best but the show makes up for that in other ways. On the night I was there it was obvious that the audience loved it and I only hope that it will transfer to the West End.It would be worth knowing if Twiggy attended the opening nightand what she thought of the show. - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 19 Aug 01 |
