starstarstarIt's a good enough production, but in the first half the orchestra drowned out the soloists, which rather defeats the point of singing it in English. It picked up in the second half, but that just isn’t good enough when you’ve paid £80. - Gareth James13 Mar 09
starstarstarWell, if this experience taught me anything it is never to listen to Italian opera again in English, it's sacrilege! I liked the staging though, an opinion which appears to be at odds with many critics, but having said that it was rather unfortunate that Café Moma seemed to resemble René's café from Alo! Alo! Perhaps I shouldn't admit to that fact, but Oh! F**k it why not! I'm sorry to say that it wasn't the exhilarating evening I had expected, but rather another run of the Miller production. Better luck next time then??? - rds24 Feb 09
