| The brilliant set coupled with the intimate setting of the Donmar makes you feel you are in the pub with these people. The writing is rich with detail, the timing and pauses are perfect, the acting is top notch. I was sitting in the front row a few feet from the actors and I felt I was in the pub with them. It gave me goosebumps. It is brilliant in every way & one of the best things Ive seen in many visits to the Donmar - Paul Wallis | 02 May 13 | |
| The set for the Donmar Warehouse’s production of the Wier is a convincing representation of a rather run down Irish Pub. The only thing missing is the smell of stale beer. For a play, which revolves around the telling of various ghost stories, there are a surprising number of humorous moments in the script. The cast, lead by the excellent Brian Cox as Jack produce an excellent and gripping performance which held my attention until the end which came all to quickly. - David | 22 Apr 13 |
