| Performers - brilliant Set - very clever Story and development - interesting Music - monotonous and too loud. Often couldn't hear the singers' words over the banging piano. - Marie Leighton | 28 Jun 12 | |
| Thank God for democracy! Whoever you are, you have the right to an opinion. It was like a Bollywood movie, with music and dancing and romance and comedy and thrillery bits. Sheer genius. I've checked other reviews and they're as good if not better. - Peter Johnson | 26 Jun 12 | |
| I agree with the review, what a fun filled evening! Thr fact that it was only 80 minutes long gave me a chance to have a rather large glass of vino after the show, in the wonderfully charming venue. I've never been to The King's Head before but I felt the intimate space complimented the piece well - especially during the intense and, in contrast, romantic moments. Gerrard and Compton portray real chemistry which bring the actors alive. The other 2 actors do a superb job too, especially the song about OCD. The writing was great and I forgot about them singing all the dialogue, it just seemed perfectly natural. I've never really eaten Spinach before seeing this play...but I think now I'll give it another chance. - Stephanie Jones | 26 Jun 12 | |
| What an amazing piece of theatre! Brilliant plot and just the right tempo. I've never seen a sung play before and it was great that the sung dialogue was broken up by the stand alone songs. It's good to adhere to the audiences needs and I think Waters and Waters pulled this off effectively. The set and the choreography was beautiful too. Fully recommend seeing this well written, well acted piece of wonderfully original theatre. - Daniel Shepherd | 26 Jun 12 | |
| Truly a painful hour and twenty minutes, much as the four performers , work their socks off to make this Turkey work .This poorly written musical could not make as main meal even if the Turkey is served with spinach or Rye. There are so many flaws in the script, and at times the directions of the actors, one of the casts jumps into the play the Saxophone and clearly has only learnt one note, it is embarrassing beyond belief. What obviously started as a good idea , quickly turns into a lost mess. I can only think that there is no interval to stop people escaping.. avoid this at all costs get your five a day some where else.. Spinach will not give you anything but soar ears.. - Steven Jame | 26 Jun 12 |
