| Superb. I saw the original London, and have seen a few other productions. This one is easily the best, as it brings out the human emotions/relationships in this sophisticated story - Chris | 01 Apr 13 | |
| What a great evening. Having seen this in the original concert at the Barbican and then at the Prince Edward theatre with the original cast and even to the superbly staged version in Stockholm and Craig Revel-Hallwood version, I was not sure how it would go in a 50 seater theatre. Amazing. The talent of all the cast was immense and quality people gives you quality shows. My only gripe was that the person playing the Arbiter needed more projection in his voice - a bit more power. Apart from that and falling over a big box on the stage ( daft me) I enjoyed it thoroughly. Please can you transfer to another theatre, a slightly bigger one but not too big, it was so intimate and powerful. Thanks - David Allison | 04 Mar 13 | |
| A truly excellent production - it's the best version of the show I've seen in a long while, not counting the original version that had the beautiful human ivory chess pieces and the tilting stage. This is a pared-down version for a pared-down theatre, and no worse for it. Songs are handled with great singing voices from most of the cast, there's more coherence to the story, and the songs stand out from so much of the dreadful West End musicals on at the moment. Try to see it, as despite being sold out online, there are a few tickets available if you ring or turn up. - Iqbal | 01 Mar 13 | |
