| Credit to the RSC for finding a replacement for Heccuba so quickly, but this is not a tired and dull piece that is past its sell by date. There is some merit to listening to the honeyed tones of Donald Sinden - on good form - and there is a truly excellent performance from Harriet Walter, but not even this is enough to save the production.
