| Only 2 stars as I felt what was on show was rubbish - sort of university drama department effort but, and it's a big but, it does have potential. There was too much of a Andy Nyman's irritating professor Goodman to start with and too few scary bits. However, it did make me think why someone else hasn't tried this idea before, The Woman In Black excepted. With a major rewrite, lots more scary bits, then I would not be surprised if a run in the West End would not be out of the question. Oh, and why the Jewish thing? That should be dropped for starters. But apart from that I wish them all good luck their original piece of theatre. - rds | 08 Apr 10 | |
| Most of these comments hit the nail on the head. Even the 1.30 matinee worked for me. Very good design from Rae Smith too. - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 20 Apr 01 | |
| This really is a fantastic night out - sexy, electrifying and thrilling. This should surely transfer to the West End. - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 20 Apr 01 | |
| This is a very funny play but also a very unsettling one. It's a bit like an old black and white thriller but much, MUCH better! Very good acting. - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 02 Apr 01 | |
| An eerie, unsettling play with lots of humour and some great performances. RECOMMENDED - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 29 Mar 01 | |
| BRILLIANT! - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 24 Mar 01 | |
| I wasn't certain what this would be like - perhaps a ropey adaptation of an old film? But no, it was very strong. Michael Feast is EXCELLENT and, indeed, the whole cast are very good. A very good show. - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 20 Mar 01 | |

| I really enjoyed this. Michael Feast is a superb 'Servant' and other performances by the rest of the cast were very good. - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 16 Mar 01 | |

| I hadn't seen the film before I saw the play but it has a lot to live up to - it's brilliant! - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 13 Mar 01 | |
| Very dark but funny play. Great performances, especially Michael Feast. Jack Davenport is very good too. Worth seeing. - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 13 Mar 01 | |
| This is a great night out! Dark, funny, sinister and weird in equal measure. Michael Feast is superlative as the creepy Servant of the title. Go and see for yourselves! - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 13 Mar 01 | |
| It is not an adaptation, as you have listed, of the film of Servant. It is an adaptation of the play by Robin Maugham which is a completely different thing. - USER: Whatsonstage.com | 06 Mar 01 |
