starstara strange evening not really very funny and what were the lepers from Ben Hur doing running accross the stage? i think the house style is becoming a little ludicrous - 81.86.106.82)03 Aug 05
starstarstarstarstarAn absolute tour-de-force. The whole Chichester ensemble and Alistair McGowan are all tremendous. I disagree with the WOS critic in that I thought the translation pointed up the Tsarist bureaucracy with its 14 levels above peasant. Nobody did understand its ramifications and so residents in a provincial village would be easily duped/self-deceived. The sound effects were really apt and funny as were the occasional freezes whilst asides were given. This was a great interpretation of a great and timeless play. Well done again Chichester. - 193.118.206.221)07 Jul 05
starstarstarstari thought that the Government Inspector was a fantastically bizarre piece of theatre that for the most part i thoroughly enjoyed. Alistair McGowan was very entertaining but i'm shocked at the lack of support for Chichester Festival Theatre ensemble actress Sophie Louise Dann, who in my opinion was excellent. - 80.177.142.122)01 Jul 05
