starstarstarstarI don't know what Lyn Gardner (Guardian review) was on about. What I saw was a good piece of work admirably rendered and competently performed. Ms Titmuss revealed a pleasing amount of comic talent, not just cleavage, and benefitted from the crisp direction. Mr Benedict was in his element. If you properly understand the material, and what Arthur Miller was trying to achieve with it, you can see clearly that the production here reflects this. A commendable debut by Ms Titmuss - and a strangely similar comparison, I would offer, between her detractors and those of one Ms Monroe. - 195.157.194.124)29 Mar 06
starstarstarI am not sure why I decided to see this (well, actually, yes I do!) and I feared witnessing a potential disaster. I was pleasantly surprised and would agree with the WOS review in that in the first act Abi was well suited to the character(!) How much was acting and how much was her natural self? It was a passable purformance. The second act did not require much movement action but did require a large degree of speech acting. I am not certain that this is Abi's forte and was perhaps a role not appropriate for her acting talents. Full marks to Jay Benedict for his roles, to which some of us perhaps did not give the fullest attention! - 195.93.21.98)05 Mar 06
