 | It was one of those evenings when you felt that it should be outstanding, involving, dramatically electrifying - and it wasn't. Enjoyable, yes, always well acted and sometimes more than that, but uneven and somehow less satisfying than the sum of its parts. Was everyone trying too hard? | Enjoyable evening's entertainment. Amanda Donahoe is excellent with a very strong supporting cast. However, there was something not quite right with this performance. It didn't sit at all right in the Crucible theatre and the attempt at a grand finale was slightly embarrassing. I didn't feel at all comfortable watching the actors perform loud rock numbers and the cringing absence of applause after one of the songs showed that the audience shared my feeling.
