| Top-class children's theatre for the thinking teen. To the person who gave it two stars: You haven't even seen it! How do I know? It's not a musical! - 194.106.62.126) | 22 Mar 05 | |
| Having seen the production twice last year, I was keen to see how it's been tweaked for the revival - and there are some interesting changes, which make it more faithful to the books. It's still visually impressive and moves at a cracking pace, although admittedly, six hours' of theatre (even separated by a two-hour interval) is a bum-numbing experience! A fianl word on the understudy who played Will on Saturday. His name is Marc Buchner and he was excellent. - 193.130.127.205) | 01 Feb 05 | |

| I hadn't read the books though the rest of the family had.Having seen both part 1&2 in the same day feel this is the most fantastic play I have seen to date. This is definately NOT a musical in any shape or form, but an extreamly well performed adaptation of novels. The stage is also something amazing, enabling this production produced to an extremely high standard - credit due to the stage crew who must have worked extremely hard arranging potentially 4 sets at the same time. The story took us into these worlds & we were gripped by the story taking us to different worlds, with brilliant acting for all charactors.Definately a PLAY NOT to be missed....as the gentleman sitting behind me said "this is absolutely **** Brilliant!" & I'm certainly hoping to see this again. - 62.255.32.13) | 14 Dec 04 | |
| Did not know the book, did quit4e enjopy it by the second act but found the characters dull compared with Harry potter and Rings....love the little people though! - 217.39.92.155) | 09 Dec 04 | |
| Hmm. i think it should have remained just a book. And it wasn't even a particularly great book: certainly not one I'd choose to create a musical about, not when there are so many wonderful books out there, looking for the chance to become a musical! (And by that, I do not, I repeat DO NOT mean 'Lord of the Rings' or 'Harry Potter'!!) - USER: Whatsonstage.com (62.254.0.34) | 16 Jul 04 |
