starstarstarstarstarJonjo O'Neill had me entranced. What a consummate performance! My only criticism of the play was the modern dress, otherwise an exceptionally enjoyable evening. More Jonjo O'Neill please! - Linda Borg-Olivier23 Jul 12
starstarstarstarstarHaving just seen the play this week, my mother and I were riveted. The acting by all was second to none, particulary O'Neill, Redmond and Dionisotti. I disagree with the Telegraph's review - Richard would be unable to manipulate those around him if he were so monstrous. There was, however, something oddly vulnerable and 'attractive' in O'Neill's portrayal of this 'unlovable' and physically afflicted man. The only thing I struggled with was the eclectic costume. I find sword fighting in modern dress simply farcical. Do not the RSC have period costume?!! Or perhaps the battlefields need to be modernised to incorporate rifles and bayonets - all or nothing please!! Otherwise - fantastic! - ER12 May 12
starstarstarstarstarHaving watched the play at the RSC I then read a rather sniffy comment from the Daily Telegraph's reviewer (not as good as Spacey's etc)and I began to question the role of a reviewer. It's just one person's opinion isn't it? And a "holier than thou" tone throughout. Three curtain calls and tumultuous applause told its own story. Brilliant! and sod the critics... - Paul Whitaker22 Apr 12
starstarstarstarJonjo O'Neill is charismatic, volatile, and riveting as Richard. I couldn't take my eyes off him, even though he's surrounded by a very strong cast. So much more coherent than the Kevin Spacey version, which felt like a star vehicle rather than an ensemble piece. - DW18 Apr 12
