| DULL! Dated indeed and not helped by the pairing of Barnett & Parker who shined as Posner and Scripts but failed to do so as Rosencrantz & Guildenstern. Barnett ran around the stage as if he were doing a John Inman impersonation! Not surprising then that Mr Curry felt unwell. Not one of Mr Nunn's best efforts. - rds | 03 Jun 11 |

| Challenging ideas, magnificent pace, a brilliant conceit in switching the focus of the most famous play in the English language, and tour-de-force performances from Barnett and Parker... What more might you want? Well, Tim Curry, I suppose, but Chris Andrew Mellon appeared to the manner born. A group of three or four people in front of us did not reappear for the second half. | I thought it was very good. I've never seen it before so had no preconceived ideas about it. Saw it last week when the understudy had to go on. He was excellent and so were all the other players. We booked the play before we knew who would be in it, so although it would have been nice to see Tim Curry, he wasn't the reason we booked. - Veronica Frater | 01 Jun 11 |
| CFT find it very difficult to put on a poor production, but I'm afraid this one was disappointing. I know the script calls for speed, but I felt the entire play was set at the same unremittingly frenetic pace. I would have enjoyed a few more moments of tension and time for thought. It also felt under-rehearsed in places, not all of which could have been excused by the change of actor due to Tim Curry's illness.
