| What a load of old tosh. Apart from the fact that I did not realise it was a ballet ?? (not very well publicised) I was expecting something very different. Even so it was embarrassing to watch and torture. Left during the interval, only wished I had left earlier. A complete waste of time and money. In summary, boring, embarrassing and thoroughly depressing :( - SandG | 15 Jun 09 | |
| Simply awful. The sexiest woman that ever lived, portrayed by a 6ft tall muscley ballet dancer? It was never going to work, was it?!?! - Gigglepants | 12 Jun 09 | |
| Absolute agony. This is the worst show I have ever seen in a west end theatre. Firstly - the design. Whose idea was it to project onto that set? Decreasing sized fabric arches (badly hung) mean that images are broken up, and text totally illegible. The sound design was appalling - from the centre of the stalls it was tinny, and painful to listen to in places. The dance itself - the worst kind of narrative dance. It could have been choreographed by an A-level student. What was PS thinking? An opening which sees Marilyn literally emerging from between the legs of her mother? The whispering psychotic mother then haunts the play, muttering something like "Norma Jean... she's only going to kill herself...". There's also something strange about the famously curvaceous Marilyn being portrayed by a toned athletic dancer. I don't think I was alone in not enjoying the show - The first number buttoned to applause, the next to luke warm appreciation, the next to reluctant clapping, the next to almost silence. The interval was greeted with relief, with many exiting the building and looking like they didn't plan to return. I certainly didn't. There must be better shows available to occupy this lovely theatre? - theatreboy96 | 05 Jun 09 |
